Home Movie Weekend at the Museum of the Moving Image

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 20, 11AM to 5PM: Drop-In Workshops and Home Movie Screenings—Do you have old films or video tapes that you haven’t watched in decades? Are you curious about what will happen to the digital media stored on your phone in 50+ years? Learn how to care for your audiovisual media from moving image archivists and show your home movies to the community! Formats addressed include: 16mm, Super 8mm, VHS, MiniDV, optical media, and digital video files. This event will take place in the Digital Learning Suite.

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 21, 2PM to 4PM: Home Movie Screenings—Amateur home movies and works by artists who transform home movies will be presented in this eclectic, lively program. Highlights from Saturday’s event will be shown, along with a curated selection of artistic works.
